The Boy from Lebanon (1994), also known as Killer Kid, is a French drama directed by Gilles de Maistre. The film follows Djilali (Tewfik Jallab), an eleven-year-old Lebanese boy who becomes a child soldier indoctrinated by Hezbollah. Trained to hate and kill, Djilali is sent to France on a mission to assassinate the French president. While in France, he is tasked with befriending Karim (Younesse Boudache), a French Lebanese boy, to gain access to a presidential event. As Djilali and Karim form an unexpected bond, Djilali begins to question his mission and the ideology he has been taught. The film explores themes of indoctrination, the loss of innocence, and the possibility of redemption.
